Note these changes/additions to walk information on our Join a Walk page
We are having problems updating information on our List of Walks page. Please check here before heading to walks (May 2, 3, 4, and 5, 2024), and also check on Facebook, X, and Instagram for updates to our list.
Note the following updates to walks posted on that page (all other info on our List of Walks page is correct):
- The Ghost Walk on Thursday May 2 at 9:00 p.m. will start at Nutana Collegiate, 411-11th Street East and NOT at the Marr Residence as previously posted. Bring a lantern and wear sturdy shoes; walkers must stay on sidewalks and follow traffic signals when crossing streets (we cannot stop traffic for a large group crossing). The Ghost Walk appears to be very popular, so popular that it may not be safe for a 100+ people to attend and be walking around in the dark, especially kids, dogs etc. The walk leader recommends you consider not attending. If the group is too large and unmanageable/unsafe you may be asked to leave. Please check out the 20 or so other Jane’s Walks and consider attending one of them. Thank you for your understanding.
- Starting location for Saskatoon’s Small Swale: Paving Paradise?: The Small Swale is located off of Range Road 3050, Saskatoon. At McOrmond Drive, turn North on Range Road 3050 (Note: South on Range Road 3050 is the Saskatoon Wildlife Federation). Continue North on Range Road 3050 toward the intersection of Township Road 374 (there is a sign that says “Rivers Edge Estates”), park on the left-hand side. Parking is limited off the road, park as far over on the shoulder as you can. Also, dogs are not allowed at the Swales. Off-trail hiking, medium difficulty.
We look forward to seeing you at Jane’s Walk 2024!
